Though apparently that wasn’t enough, because they brought back Jigsaw’s wife to the story. Because Jigsaw is dead, they needed to use a lot of flashbacks to keep the fans’ attention. It just comes across as a desperate move, with exploding faces, falling keys, eye pokers, and other objects flying toward the screen.Įven with the surprise return of original Saw actor, Cary Elwes, nothing about this movie is surprising. The fact that everything has to fly toward the viewers makes this Saw flick extremely nasty. Releasing this movie in 3D was also a bad idea, as if the movie wasn’t gross enough. With a dip in attendance, the intention to make an eighth movie fell through, and this film marks the end of the lucrative horror franchise. Is it the third movie?
